Buffalo? Some kinda carp? Found his way into my buddy's little backyard pond.

im not sure either but I think I got the same thing in my pond after the flood last year. I've been trying to shoot his arse but to no avail

It's either some kind of carp or a buffalo. But it's hard to tell without an actual picture.

Not a hard and fast rule, but buffalo tend to be more gray than orange while carp tend to be more orange than gray.

My vote is for a goldfish (Crucian carp; Carassius carassius) or some sort of hybrid of those Carassius fish.

That looks more like a rip to me than any sort of fork.

I did leave myself some leeway with the statement of a hybrid from that genus.


Edit to add: I searched "golfish in the wild" for that picture. Who knows what sort of thing that is, because it is a bit strange how it doesn't appear to have any sort of fork to its tail, as "goldfish" do.

I still stand by my identification of a Carassius spp. "goldfish."

what u wanna do is fillet as much meat off the bidy as u can cook it up and then mix it with some rice n veggies and a lot of sauce and then eat dat boiiiii
