I bought a Falkor Petra and I need someone around Baton Rouge who is willing to help me get this thing on paper. It's a 300 win mag AR and I couldn't get it on paper when I took it to the ranch this weekend. It has a Nikon Monarch scope with a M-223 mount on it and I ran out of elevation and windage on the scope. This is just a temporary setup but with a spare scope I had laying around but I'm not wanting to spend big money on a scope and mount right away. I am hoping someone around BR who is very familiar with AR's can help me trouble shoot my setup with a place to shoot with a 100 yard range.

I have a NF NXS with a Larue mount on a colt le901 that's would be easy to take off and try but I'm not really wanting to do it at a 25 yard indoor range.

My advice to all new gun owners

1) start at 20 yards and see where you are, get it where you want it and increase range from there

2) barrel may need a bit of break in (110+rounds) and could be all over the place.

If these two don't help trade that to some sucker that thinks it is neat but will keep it locked up in his safe and never shoot it.

I don't think it's a gun issue at this point and more of a mount/scope issue.

The mount is a M-223 Nikon and the rail I have no idea. This is just a temporary fix and I will be going top of the line mount and scope in the next 6 months.

No bother at all, that's what I'm here for. If you want to drop by let me know when so I can make sure I'm not tied up in the back.

ETA: I misread the post. Check and see if your mount has MOA built in, that could put you outside for the scopes adjustment range. I did that with a rem 700, mistakenly bought one with 15 MOA instead of 0 MOA.

I'll come to Ponchatoula Sunday. I just noticed it's the M-223xr which may be my problem.

I'm assuming you were trying it at 100 yards? As said? Why not move into 20-25 first? If you can't hit a cardboard box at 25 yards you have some serious trouble.

It could very well be the mount has the scope angle too high or low or something.
