Have a potential job prospect in Fayetteville, Arkansas. How's the hunting, fishing and camping up there?

Nice. Car camping or backpacking camping?

Camping is great. Either backpack, campsites are floating the buffalo and camping along the way. Fishing is pretty good too. Beaver lake, not too far from Table Rock and several rivers around as well.

Hunting on the other hand sucks. Unless you own/ know someone with land there just aren't many options. Leases are few and far between. The few options that do exist can be fairly crowded. However there are places within a few hours (Oklahoma for ducks or KS/MO for deer) if you don't mind driving.

As stated, if you dont own land or have access to private, the hunting is nonexistent.

Fishing is killer. Beaver Lake and the White River are nice spots. Smallmouth, stripers and walleye are good targets up there.

My brother lives in Goshen just outside of Fayetteville and fishes damn near every day during peak season.

Well the close proximity to good fishing sounds awesome.

I wouldn't mind driving an hour or two for some hunting, that's only a few months outta the year. There's no public hunting land up there? That kinda sucks though.

Yes there is some. Weddington, some National Forest land around Devils Den and White Rock WMA area south of Winslow, but like I said it's not a ton of land and hunted fairly hard as a result.

my folks have a place near pelsor
camping/hiking/climbing/etc is incredible but hunting and fishing not so much
it's dry as a desert in the summer and the winters are pretty nasty
spring and fall are really nice though

Beautiful area... not the best part of the state for hunting and fishing IMO.
