Skeeters would be the worst part. I'd have to get my little chica to sew up some pants ASAP. I had a mosquito bite my goods when I was sleeping/hunting one time, and it was itching for like a month straight.

No offense guys, but you wouldn't be watching these shows if you thought you'd win easily.
You are watching it because you want to learn how to do it.
That means you are way under the skill level of these on TV.
No offense but the only reason i'm watching it is to see the chics booty

Anyone learn anything yet?

That one episode where the guy burnt that girl.
I've been waiting six years for someone to build a fish dam and trap fish in it. He added the grass in there for the fish to swim in and then throw it out on the bank to catch them. That was a nice touch i wouldn't have thought of.

Would you apply for either show?
No

How do you realistically feel you would do?
See above answer.

I could do Alone and probably make it a couple weeks.
NAF - i'm out.
Maybe i've missed it, but how do they get to choose which items they bring with them on Alone? That could make or break you right there.

No way on Naked and Afraid. I've had this discussion with friends before. I always say go try and survive naked in your backyard for 24 hours if you think you could do it. Between bugs, heat, cold, sleeping... it would suck beyond anything I'd like to deal with. Also, I have pussy feet and there is zero way I could go without shoes for 21 days.
Alone is doable. It just depends on how long you could be alone. I might bring a big arse book as one of my items and read it several times.

Yep. One guy made a guitar and wrote him a song. It was pretty impressive.
Just got to keep yourself busy.

From a anthropological and medical standpoint I find NAF fascinating. The degree of dependency on clothing that the human animal has developed is impressive. Watching what simple exposure to the elements quickly does to the body and mind is very interesting.
Really for a survival situation, you need 3 things at a bare minimum. blade, fire, vessel to boil water in. Since you only get to pick two tools to bring, it makes NAF a very difficult task. That being said, I am always surprised that the persons attempting it, are not more knowledgeable or body hardened on day one.

I think they are given a machete now.

For 40 Years, this Russian family was cut off from outside world. Unaware of WW2
This is an incredible read.

Last shows I watched they said machete was supplied. Then each picks their tool. Most picked fire starter and pot.
One guy brought slingshot and couldn't hit the ground with it

I watched one last night and they were given a magnesium fire starter and each brought a tool. Both brought machetes, so that put a good twist on it. They were in the Amazon and it rained everyday so fresh water wasn't a issue. I am not sure if they know where they are going before hand or not.

Maybe it changes every show but that's funny they had two machetes. I wondered if they ever brought the same thing as the other person.

Wasn't that guy from LA?
A slingshot.
A slingshot.

I think so. He bragged about how much game he had killed with it.

It actually worked out fairly well. They had a large one and a medium sized one. They were clearing out their spot in the jungle with the quickness with two people swinging.
The real question, imo, is whether or not they know where they are going. If I'm going Amazon, I know it will be raining and water would not be an issue. If I am going to the swamp somewhere, I would bring a pot to boil water.

If he would have been able to provide with that slingshot, he would have been a legend. Unfortunately, in true coon arse fashion, he may have embellished a little

I would knock the bottom out of Cassidy Flynn. Probably dehydrate myself in 4 hours and pass out
