Aka Boomer lesson # 248 to you youngsters

Spent some of my time when I was off work with the covid remodding a built-in off the garage into a wine rack /(conservatory?) for the Mrs.
Pretty simple little project that turned out rather nicely (or so I thought )

Now that she’s jelly and on cloud nine with her new wine storage area I can hit her with the I’m ordering a new boat next week speel.

Look for my latest book....”How to keep a marriage blooming AND still get what you want.”.... on sale next month. :)

That is nice. How much skill would that take for a non-carpenter who owns a circle saw but not a table saw or mitre saw?

Alcohol doesn’t last long enough in my house for me to build storage.

But, that looks good. Nice work.

I used a table saw for the pieces and just kicked the blade over for the mitre cut on the four pieces that touched shelves/bottom shelf. Could be done with circular saw if you take your time n dont rush. My skill level is low but I somehow usually make up for the lack of knowledge/tools by old fashioned guesswork. LOL.
THE X’d pieces are slotted to fit together n then worked into the open spot with sweat and a mallet. Still fought trying to keep it perfectly level despite measuring a thousand times but some sanding here n there got it done. Corner pieces in x are not all mitred, but actually flat. Just caulked open seams and open spots to give it a more finished look. Luckily left gap at back of shelf for strip lighting but almost didn’t leave enough. 8-0

Hardest part was actuslly hand routing the wine glass holders edges since I didn’t have a router table. Thankfully most of tge screw ups were towards the back where they couldnt be seen. :)

That's a lot of wine. The Mrs. might have a drinking problem.

It’s pretty clear there is a major problem. Don’t be afraid to seek help. Send me a personal message and I can get you in touch with some good people.

NOICE!

I find that the best way to keep the wife happy is to say yes when she expects a yes and no when she expects a no and not a fricking word otherwise. It takes some practice but that is what the honeymoon period is about...learning when she is seeking a yes and when she is seeking a no.

And let her drive. I can drive for days by myself and never come close to having an accident...I can't drive 3 feet beyond the mailbox with the wife in the truck without my endangering the entirety of western civilization as we know it. Apparently she is a jinx or something but whatever it is I am constantly trying to kill everyone around us when I drive but never have an issue alone or with anyone else in the truck. This is a little difficult when it is the motorhome that we are driving because she subscribes to two schools of thought on operating a motor vehicle. The first is the manufactured put a speedometer on the thing for a reason and if it says 140 by god the damned thing is meant to operate at 140. Thankfully the speedo on the RV only goes to 80 and the thing will only come close to that down hill with a tail wind....but the second school of thought is that the road has several lanes and a shoulder that is perfectly acceptable as a driving surface and all should be utilized as much as possible and there is nothing more stimulating to one's cardiovascular system than to be hurtling through the Rocky Mountains in a 36 foot motorhome at 75 MPH with someone driving by brail....it is not for the feint of heart I assure you.....

The secret to a happy marriage is to keep your mouth shut and tamp down what few emotions you will have left after about 5 years...just swallow that shite

Ehh...she has to deal with me on a daily basis so I’ll give her a break.

Now the fact that all sections were full before last weekend..... that might be an issue. :)
