I lost just 1. Nice elm in my front yard. Cut it up yesterday evening after work. Planted it the year we moved in. It was up to 20 feet or so. Going this weekend to get a replacement. Not sure if I'm going to get something different.

Anyone else have any casualties?

1 pecan and 1 bradford pear, and at least a million small branches too big to chop up with mower

Lost 1, Don't know what it was. it was about 8' tall Roots weren't really even in the ground mostly on top, easy to see why it fell over.

Diablo Prunning sawzall blade made quick work of it yesterday.

My chainsaw is ready

Trees are lucky I have a real job. There wouldn't be a oak tree left in ascension parish.

Lost a pear tree. It was ~25 feet tall. What to do with that wood? Is it worth cutting up for firewood?

A quick online search leads me to believe that a pear tree is worth cutting up for firewood. As is most fruit trees, they just take a bit more time than most other hardwoods to season.
