How long do boat batteries last?

I have a set that dates 12/12. Thinking that 4 years is probably going to be the max. How long until y'all generally have to replace them?

Usually a few days after the warranty expires

Trolling motor every 12-18 months. Cranking battery every 2-3 years

I guess it would depend on care/maintenance performed and if it was a cranking or trolling and properly sized. A battery that was frequently run down and not charged after wouldn't make it 1-2 years IMO. Properly cared for I would say 4 is respectable

When they won't take a charge anymore. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

mine generally start crapping out at around 4 years...really depends on how often you cycle them, though.

I had Interstate Batteries last over 5 years.

Both of my batteries are 4 1/2 yrs old. I charge every time I go out. I do need to replace the trolling motor battery though; it's getting more & more difficult to charge.
Edit: both are Interstate

I get around 5 years out of my interstate cranking batteries. Keep a trickle charge on em.

Both my trolling and cranking batteries are over 6 years old and still kicking. I charge them regularly. That's the key.
