I used to use regular whet rocks and Arkansas stones but when I seen them Kids sharpening dull pocket knives at the sportsman show I ponied up and bought one. I went home that evening and sharpened every kitchen knife we own so I could return it if it didn't work as expected. I still have it.

Not sure if someone is trolling their website....but they only have 1 star reviews listed on it and a ton of them. I've never seen so many bad reviews on the companies own website.

A stone is all I have ever used my whole life. Give me a dull fillet knife and in a few passes I will be able to shave with it. Certain steels are harder than others on cheap knives and it makes it a bitch to get right if its dull, but a fillet knife is soft steel. In less than 2 minutes you should be able to shave with the thing.

Im sure that belt sanding device is bad arse but thats for people that cant sharpen a knife and feel the price is worth it. My cheap stone will outlast them all.

It puts a convex edge on the blade, which is better than that flat grind of the stone. its not about not being able to sharpen, but properly sharpen with a good edge

I use one of those hand sharpeners that really just eat a blade when it comes to a fillet knife. 3 passes and that sucker will gut you. Used the same for knifes that were on my offshore boat.

Electric on special trout and knife on reds.
Accu sharp on the filet knife for reds, try not to over think things.
Also use it on bigger blades for cobra, etc.
