How cold/mild of a winter are we supposed to have this year?

Seemed like winter got off to a slow start last year.

We're supposed to have a weak La Nina, forming in the late fall/early winter. Should allow it to dry out in the southeast. Worsening drought in the SW, storms in the Pacific NW, bitter cold in big sky country, heavy snowfall in the upper Midwest and Canada (eh?), and persistent cold in the mid-Atlantic and New England states.

All good info, but in layman's terms expect some hard freezers or not?

I expect normal winter temperatures for the southeast, maybe drier than normal. So, if you get a hard freeze on a normal year, then yeah. Now, it's still early - December will likely set the tone.

Lay mans terms... Hope for a shite ton of snow in South Dakota and Kansas early to kill ducks.

I'm hunting big sky on first week of November. Hoping the cold holds true. Makes elk hunting almost a guarantee

I'm hoping for a dryer winter. It seems like it rained every weekend last year when we deer hunted. We still killed plenty deer, but it made camping a pain in the arse.

Drier is good, Im hoping for a couple early hard freezes to knock back the mosquitos, they're pretty ruthless right now

I'm hoping for the same, yellow flies have been pretty bad too this year.

Please, no ice storms.
However, a few light snows would be nice.

2nd weekend last year was great. Mid 40's at daylight delta region Mississippi.

Of course the next weekend the high was 85.

Dear duck gods,

It's me again....

Please make it miserably cold and snowy up north so the ducks will get the frick outta there and fly south. Also please make it dry and cold, just a little less cold, down here. I really dont want to hunt christmas morning in 85 degree weather again. Amen.

Thanks,

CC

Yes of course. Only OBers should be allowed to have water.

Last year was definitely not desirable weather for us. Water everywhere, and except for Thxgiving week, I used a thermacell more than a jacket.
I seem to remember the Farmers Almanac predicting a bitter cold winter (last year).
