I was deer hunting as a guest at a club. I shot a buck 1/4" shy of the minimum spread. I was fined $200 . A week later I shot a wall hanger at the same club and put it in the cooler. Lots of members were pissed. I was on my way to quarter it up a few days later and an 8 pt ran into my truck on the camp road. Boom! Another dead buck! More pissed off members! Luckily, I was asked to join the club the following year!

Friend of mine's teenage daughter calls him one night said she hit a deer. Says car is driveable and she is right down the road so he told her to take pictures and come on to the house.. Whe she got there he looked at the pictures and said wtf, is that a collar on that deer? She says, oh yeah it did have a collar on it.. He went back to the spot and there was blood on the road and hair but someone done got the deer.

Deer are all around like pets at Mount Magazine park in Arkansas. We were chatting with a waitress in the lodge restaurant, and she said almost everyone who worked there had hit deer multiple times driving down the mountain to get home at night. She said she had the record. I can't recall the exact number of strikes, but it was more than six.

The Texas Hill Country is another area where deer strikes are very common. So common that many of the residents mount Guards on the front end of their vehicles regardless of the brand and type of car.
