I realize it will vary from truck to truck but how many miles can you expect out of these before they cost too much to maintain? I'm definitely going the used route.

I'm finding at a lot in the 150-200k range. I don't drive a terrible amount. Guess it could work.

What years you looking at? I had a 99 and an 04, and they were bomb-proof. If I can't break a vehicle, it's well built

My 99 got flooded out during Katrina. I had the 04 at the same time, and geico wanted like 75% of the value to buy the totalled 99 back. Let that one go

The 3.4 is a 400k mile motor with fluid changes, o2 sensors, and water pump/timing belts.

Parts are high as eagle pussy on the newer body style ones.

water pump/timing belts.
That's the key. I've had a 3.4 and a 2.7. The 2.7 with a 5 speed will outrun the 3.4 all day

Time will tell with this new engine. I'm actually interested in the new Frontier that's rumored.

Mine is nearing $200k and motor is strong. I truly expect 300k easily. Drop in motors are easily found online and that is my plan. I'm keeping my 4x4.

I have 187k on mine. I put 87,000 miles on it in four years.

In that time I have changed the oil nine times, changed battery once, changed the U-joints on the drive-shaft and changed out some pads on my leaf springs so they wouldn't squeak. My catalytic converter is failing (as my O2 sensor test good) planning to change all four in a month or two.

By far the easiest to maintain truck I have ever owned. I actually miss having something to fix sometimes.

Very well built, very solid, cheap parts and easy to work on.

I'm not going to keep it long enough, but based on the fluids, I don't doubt that I can hit 300k no problem. Even then I expect the tranny to fail first.

best is I paid only $9200 for it (4x2 prerunner access cab) and it's still worth nearly that.
