Atchafalaya delta wma has a season thAt is open until end of march with bows, shotgun with slug/buckshot or rifle no larger than 22 rimfire.

The golden boys are pretty accurate. Heavy octagonal barrel with an open sight. I believe you have to drill and tap holes to put a scope. My dad has the 22 magnum, I have the 22 long. They are very good guns, I'm just scared to scratch the pretty gold paint job.

The finish on my Henry isn't near as nice as my Winchester but it isn't a golden boy either. There are 2 spot on it where the bluing has worn off from riding leaning on the seat of a Polaris ranger

Actually, it looks as if their guns come d/t or use a grooved receiver (rimfires).

I think the Henry has a painted finish on the receiver?

Nice 9422. Shame that those little guns are gone. Untold numbers of small game have been taken with .22 Winchesters down through the years.

I had no idea they were discontinued until I went to their site trying to get a pic of one the other day. It is a jewel for sure. One of my favorite guns. It has much, much better sights than that Henry which make it a damn fine shooter
