I know a few fields in E. Feliciana that got busted opening weekend and one of the fields that was busted was because of the local Co-Op giving out people who purchased millet. Seems like more people getting busted for hunting baited fields than I can remember.

I have no idea. Just talking to my dad up there and said one of the guys that got busted telling everyone to watch buying feed with a CC and pay cash because that is how they got onto him.

Not saying you're wrong or weren't told that, but that's sounds like quite a stretch. Like one of those things that gets passed around a good bit and the details change.

they should say the name of the feed store and let that backlash be what it may.

So...is the bigger issue that they are being busted or that they are hunting illegally?

is baiting with millet that economical? Crap is like 40 a bag and doesn't go far when considering baiting.

A little bird told me if you gather all of your acorns in the yard and throw them in a clearing in a swamp for deer, around mid season you won't have to worry about baiting anything

A guy by the camp has been baiting for fish. I was wondering if that was legal? What if I get caught fishing over it, but I didn't do it?

I'm good friends with a game warden I went to college with. I've asked him straight up if they do it. He said he doesn't personally but game wardens will drop by feed stores and ask questions

I like to think of them as either baited fields, heavily baited fields, or the unbaited fields in close proximity to one of the former. Those are the only kinds that exist I think.

He doesn’t need PC Or a Warrant. He’s just doing his job. Don’t hunt illegally, you have nothing to worry about.

I was the ignorant beneficiary of one of those once. Looking back, I should have realized something was not right.

Giving game warden permission to hunt on Tuesdays on non holiday weeks throughout the season goes a long way. We have never had any problems with green jeans.
