On the plane now. Anybody ever fished down this way? Worth the money? Interwebz says it has good billfishing, but I'm not so sure. There sure are a lot of cuda's and mackerel in these pictures. If I'm gonna drop 800 or so, I want something better than that.

We're so spoiled in Louisiana, I've sorta moved away from fishing on vacations to the beach.

Thoughts?

Go park yourself at Soggy Dollar with a Painkiller in one hand and ring toss in the other. Let the fish live another day. I just returned from a week on Grand Cayman. Spent one day pulling a marlin spread and another casting flies to bonefish and tarpon. Lots of fish on both trips but none hungry enough to make it to hand. I just can't be that close to prime marlin water without fishing it. Most of the charters in the Virgin Islands go out of Red Hook on St. Thomas. Few and far between in the BVI's. Good luck!

I'm not allowing myself to go back there anymore. I love some kinds of fancy jewelry and watches and a $5k trip turns into a $30k trip, wayyyy too fast!

I went to Tortola last April. I asked the resort about planning a fishing trip and the guy told me I'd be better off just sight-seeing and boozing. I took his advice.

Just do a bunch of snorkeling, sailing, drinking, lounging, and sightseeing. Been twice and will be back again next year, fishing is way down the list unless you are there for an extended stay (3 weeks or more)

Hardly. It's turning into a pain in the arse. I don't even know why I bought the whole damn island.

Well, buy "buying" I mean renting a small closet and by "whole damn island" I mean...well the same small closet.

It's cold as shite in this cargo bay. Which one of these doors opens with the landing gear? Really need to figure that out.

The fishing proved to be too hard to coordinate from here. I'll manage.
