Any suggestions? Should I just get a mover?

I get a stupid discount on Browning and I'm thinking about taking advantage of it to get the 43 gun Silver safe. Everyone says you should always get one size bigger than you think, so I'm going big time. Don't know how I would move it though, unless I borrow the store's pallet jack, but even then, there's a steep step up to get into my house.

Sounds like a good way to get crushed...

Golf balls can also work well for moving on flat surfaces...

Get a mover, mine weighs 1400lbs and I wouldn't even attempt it. It was $300 for them to move it. Best decision to date. Mike Ward's in BR moved mine.

I wonder what they'd charge to get it up that step. I can get my cargo trailer and bring it to my house. They'd literally only have to get it inside

We moved mine with a furniture dolly and a ramp, but it was only for 1 step. Movers will probably have a crawler for the steps. Once it was on carpet the furniture slides will work.
Around here, 2 Men and Truck is like $100 an hour.

Call and ask them. It's worth it.

Get someone with insurance. You don't want some random under-the-bridge bums moving your shite and dropping your brand new safe into the side of your house

I would certainly pay someone to do that...just too much potential to damage your house or get someone hurt...

That is how I move mine but it is only like a 10 or 12 gun safe not a 43.

I've moved a lot of heavy stuff with furniture dollies and makeshift ramps

Yep and I drive a vehicle every day and there's always that one chance, come on I'm not talking about throwing down a couple of 2x4's and trying to push an unsecured load up them, which would be safer than not using condoms, but hey it's your life.
