So, I'm new to this hair jig thing after being a devoted fan of Garland and Panfish Assassin products. A friend of mine kills the perches on nothing but hair. Today, there were none at Acad, and the racks at Security were mostly empty. I recall seeing Krappie Killers and Jenny's Jigs here locally.

Thoughts on hair, hair vs. plastics, color combos and if color even matters please.

I've done best so far on Chart/Blk/Chart, but that is getting harder to find here.

Its all I use on Darbonne. 1/32 or 1/16 oz. I use the gray/Blue mostly. I forget the # of the jig that Back Lake Jigs used to make(don't think they tie them anymore) But it was Gray with some purple and chartreuse. I called it my Tiger jig. I also like one that has some orange in it during spring fishing shallow. Kinda like the Cajun Cricket color in a Garland jig. I caught 28 Saturday using a jig and the guy next t me was matching fish for fish on shiners. When they are on I am not sure the color matters that much. I just have my favorites.

You have a picture of those things? What size hook? And how much weight do you want on them?

I've been making them for 7-8 years. Chartreuse/black and orange/black are my main go to jigs

My brother and his white perch disciples have a guy that does custom ones for them. Those are the ones I sent you pics of. They have to order or take what he has on hand

If you are ever in Ruston stop by Terzias off Hwy 33. They have a tackle shop there and have tons of hair jigs.

Some of those looked great, but then again, I'm not a perch.

Just when I think color or type doesn't matter, I go through a stretch with no bites and am forced to switch back to old faithful.

Let me know what combinations you want and I'll tie you some. I have a lot of heads in purple, chartreuse and light blue. Been tying a few this week. White w/light blue and a few chartreuse tinsels match the monkey milk pretty good, and I tie a mean Chart/black on purple head. 1/16 is all I've got though.

I would be willing to buy some off you if you tie extra. Good hair jigs are hard to find. I buy them from a guy on crappie dot com. He makes good jigs.
