My browning maxus was stolen Tuesday night/ wednesday morning. We were driving from baton rouge to Stuttgart and it was stolen somewhere in between. I went to bass pro yesterday and they were able to look up the serial number for me. Who do I report it to? I'd like to get the serial number reported as stolen asap just in case it pops up somewhere. Sucks I loved that ol gun. One I wanted to hand down to one of my kids someday. Tia.

Sorry to hear that. You'll want to file a report with the BRPD when you get home from your trip. I had a Glock stolen once...all it really does is protect you if the gun is one day used in a crime.

No. It's dumb but we had all our gear in the back of the truck because the cab was full. Everything was in garbage bags though bc it was raining. We left someone with the truck when we stopped to get groceries but we made a stop vadalia at burger king that was only about 10 minutes and a stop in Dumas, ms at a gas station that was about 5 minutes. That's the only time the fear was alone. I was thinking about calling those places to see if the could check video surveillance but idk..

But to OP, that sucks. I hate not getting any of my grandpa's guns to pass along to my boys.

At the minimum you need to so the serial numbers will be in NCIC and it will show its stolen if it ever gets ran. I'd contact each place you stopped and find out if they had cameras. If so you can always see if they can watch the tape and find out if that's where it was stolen from. If not contact the police dept there and let them know the situation and maybe they can go check the tape. Good luck

under feinsteins proposal.. you might be in heap big trouble not knowing where it is stolen...

this is why I don't have any hunting related stickers on a vehicle.. telegraphs you may have guns in vehicle..

also same reason i rarely where camo except when hunting..

I stoped in a time saver in N.O.LA in 83 to pay for gas... was in there for 30 seconds.. guy gasing up next to me swiped gun out of my car...

how did he know I had a gun...... the way I was dressed.

Same thing happened to a buddy of mine in Novemeber driving to Neb. to hunt. Had three guys stuff in his truck so the back was loaded down, but he was by hisself because the other two were flying up. Went in a gas station a some recent immigrants walked in ahead of him and were stalling a causing a scene, I presume to slow him down and distract him because his truck was in sight. Someone with them grabbed several of the totes out of the back of his truck that were loaded with gear. Luckily though it wasnt a gun, they were all in the cab.
Hate to hear it man, but not surprising if it was left alone at all. FT has the best advice and I would be on the phone calling all those places and any business they tell you is next door or across the road asking if they have cameras. Catch them suckers.

damn that sucks.

That's why I have left the ugly bed cover on mine from when I bought it from my old man.

My gear stays in bed all season with the cover locked.
