Any recommendations for a gun smith in the new orleans, jefferson parish areas? I have some 70 - 80 year old rifles and a pistol I'd like checked out.

Thanks.

Shoot them and check the fired case after. If you don't see any trouble signs like primers beginning to be pushed out or cracks in the fired case then it will be fine to shoot. Unless it was stored in harsh conditions, nothing functional has changed since the last shot fired from the gun; whether it be 1 week ago or 80 years ago.

Those are all well built guns that should be fine. Just do like stated above. Use standard ammunition and no +P rounds and you will be fine. Also do not use any 9mm NATO rounds in your Luger as those are higher pressure. Stay with 9mm parabellum or 9mm Luger standard loads. Guns don't just explode like some will have you believe, unless they were purposely tampered with or the incorrect ammunition is used.
