My family and are in Gulf Shores for this week.

Anybody have any recommendations on a fishing guide/charter. There are just 3 of us so either a small boat or one that takes multiple groups. We are probably only thinking a half day or so.

Any thoughts or recommendations appreciated.

If you are looking for an inshore charter, check out "Hollywood" Shaver at Zekes. I would normally never use Zekes, but I think Hollywood will put you on fish.

I have lived in OB for 20 years Capt. Dave Brown for inshore.

Off shore, call Capt Brian Anan.

Thank me.

We've used Distraction Charters for a 6 hour offshore trip. Trolling and bottom fishing. It was 4 adults and one kid, and they're very kid friendly. My dad mainly just watched, so 3 adults and 1 kid fishing. He told us he does only 6 hour trips, and has a morning and afternoon trip most days. So if the thought of getting up at 4 AM to go fishing isn't your thing, might be an option.

I want to go deckhand for him...... $250 for a 6hr minimum + a %10-20 tip if he does a good job. You hit 2 trips a day that's $500 a day cash plus tips.

That's also a 16 hour day. You've got to prep the boat and gear about an hour before ever leaving the marina. When you get back you clean all the fish on the dock. Then you go do it again. Sure, a lot of the time you're riding out and riding back in, and getting paid for it, but it is definitely seasonal work and hard hours. The guy that was with us the day we went out was awesome though. Took great care of my nephew and my two BIL's, who had never been out before. A good mate makes all the difference.

Thank you everyone for the feedback. We opted not to fish this go round but will keep these recommendations for next time.
