I've got a grass burr problem that is slowly taking over my yard. I've been told that a pre-emergent is the best way to take care of them. I know I can't put that down until the spring but does anyone have any recommendations for a specific pre-emergent? Also, is there anything I can do in the meantime to help in any way? TIA.

I'm about 20 miles west of Fort Worth if it matters.

I'm not sure what that is but bootlegger probably does. I'm curious. Can you post a pic?

I'm sure that's not the actual name, that's just what everybody around here calls em. Anyway here's a pic.

That is sand spur, and is different than burweed. What type of turf are you trying to control it in?

Regardless, it is an annual monocot, so like you have said the best thing is a pre-emergent in spring.

Thanks!

Bermuda..... But honestly it's mostly half Bermuda and half sand spur. About the only thing I could think of to do this late in the year was bag my clippings. Not sure if it's doing any good or not.
