Well we went in March for 3 days of fishing and caught probably 40 bass between 6 anglers but only had 8 keepers (gotta be over 14"). We stayed in Lanan and fished north of Pendleton the whole time. A front moved in the first night we arrived so it was 47deg the next morning. That would explain some of the problem...high barometric pressure.

As anyone who fished Toledo lately knows, the water is ungodly low. We couldn't even use the launch at the cabin we rented. I only had 4 keepers....3 at 15.5"s and 1 16". Caught them all on a 8" red bug worm Texas rigged.

Well, we've decided to go back. This time the plan is to stay on the south end around Torro Bay area and really fish the grass. Also cross the lake and hit 6 Mile and Sandy. Everything I've been hearing is work the grass hard. Have any of you OB'ers been recently, and if so what kind of tips can you give a fellow Tiger fan on locations and baits?

I already have a couple of Rogue's and brush hogs (watermelon w/red flakes). This is what we were told was catching last time we went. Didn't get a hit on either.

Shallow cranks...should also be tied on. Topwater in the mornings and evenings...softplastics once the sun comes up. Finesse worms rigged wacky in black grape. Also fin and feather has some really good fishing close by.

Mid to late May can be prime topwater time there. Especially if you find bait in pepper grass. Try buss baits until after sunrise, then switch to something like a chug-bug.

Grass edges will probably be the best thing in Sandy and 6 mile with pionts being best. If you find deeper submerged grass, try a whacky worm or senko over it.

I've heard about Fin and Feather. They are definitely in the plans. The last cabin we had was about two miles from Toledo Town so we hit them a couple of times.

I hung a good one on a black buzz bait last time but after about five cranks of the reel, he jumped and got off. Thinking about adding a trailer hook to it to help that out.

As far as the wacky worm goes, can that be hooked weedless? Excuse the ignorance but I've never fished it. Heard about it, but never fished it.

You can put it on a weedless hook, but I just use a regular hook....senkos are the easiest to fish wacky if you are using a baitcaster...finesse worms take a little more finesse (forgive the pun)... once you start fishing wacky you will fish a tx rig less and less.

We used to have success this time a year fishing away from the banks toward a drop off. Senkos worked well Texas rigged. We'd find a nice grassy area with a decent drop off then get close to the bank and fish back toward the drop. So we were fished pulling up to the shallow if that makes any sense. 8-15 ft is where we tried to keep it this time a year.
