I currently own 2 glocks and have shot a bunch of rugers. I have previously sold other glocks and have 2 9mm.. a 17 and a 26. I say glock. I have also recently with in the last year bought ans sold a Taurus Judge, S&W Sigma 40, S&W .44 mag, S&W 5 inch .357 6 shot forget number, taurus 24/7, Ruger LCP revolver, and I think thats it. I have shot many XD's and they are a fine weapon! Just a little wider and different to take apart.

I also say 9mm b/c with all of the bullet choices out there now, they have extremely nice self defence shells just as capable of killing someone as a .45ACP or S&W .40, but you get more shots which means more options.

Cheaper Bullets means more practice and plinking which makes you better and more confident in your weapon.

Less recoil so even the little wife can learn and have fun.

IMO everything about a 9mm is a good Idea, while other claiburs are good, great and cool 9mm gives you a little bit of everything.

That being said If i were going to a gun fight prepared, I would bring a 10mm Glock and 3 clips, and my rigged out ar 15 with 3 30rd clips and one 20 round on my Infadel padded war belt. also has other things on it. But that is not at all what we are talking about is it....

If I had a Glock and a Ruger, I would carry the Glock and use the Ruger as a trot line weight.

Now to be fair, Ruger makes a good revolver, and good .22's (handguns and rifles).
