We have an old trailer on our property we want to remove and build on the land. Trailer is over 40 years old and we finally got ppl out of it- trailer is basically falling apart, broken windows, fascia and roof rotting and leaking in one room, damaged floors etc.

We are thinking about just getting dumpsters n having it torn down or putting an add on craigslist for free, just needs to be removed. We are concerned about it falling apart while being removed. Worth the headache to give it away and have it removed or should we just tear it down???

Controlled burn. Rent a bobcat to get rid of the debris.

ETA: I looked at renovating an old trailer just recently until I did some pre checking myself. You'd be surprised what happens in the walls when they aren't taken care of. Not worth the hassle and if it falls apart while trying to move it, then you have a more $$ problem on your hands

Wish we could do the burn option. The parish will tear it down with their machines if we get the dumpsters so that's what were planning on doing.

I guess the hoarder in me wants to salvage it somehow.. I was thinking as a camp or something. Just not sure it can be removed without collapsing.

If it's in that bad of shape, just tear it down.

That's the ticket. I wouldn't worry about salvaging. Very little, if any will be good to use.

Do you have a big hole that needs to be filled?
Lol, But seriously, a gully, drain, etc, that could be filled? Or access to a dozer to just crush and bury?

The frame makes a good round bale hay wagon or use it for a bridge crossing. Don't know if the parish equipment can get the frame into a dumpster.

They have machines to tear it down. A guy will come cut the frame n wants the metal part so I guess its a no brainer to do it this way. Was curious to know if yall thought there would be interest for someone to fix for camp, etc.

Thanks for the advice boys.

Saw some guys selling the metal beams that run long way underneath it for like $300 a piece.

Might want to try that after reading it down.

Axles could be worth a few hundred.
But, I'm with SS, "get it outta here for no money and no work, ftw"!!

We had one that we tore all the sides off of and welded some expanded metal to the floor and made a bridge across a creek for our ATV's.

Dont think the frame is strong enough for a truck, but it works great for ATV's.
