Mud motor brothern...Need pros and cons before I decide to drop the cheese on a carburetor upgrade or not. Working with stage 1 on GTR. Is running a Mikuni that much better than a stock Briggs carb that has no issues? Give me all u got. TIA

Prob not worth the cheese if that's the only mod. I can tell you, I added a carb, heads and a bps q and the difference is dramatic. Couldn't hit 20mph with four guys and now I can run about 25-27 with the same load. Also the hole shot is much better.

Do these mods have any effect on how long the motor will last?
And if you don't mind how much( ballpark) does this run and who did it?

If you keep the same guts, more power= shorter life.
How much shorter depends on how you run it.

Got all the mods except carb. loved the low end and getty up i got from them.. just wonderin if that high end carb is really worth it or should i be happy with the steady reliable set up i got goin now?

Got 100 hrs on heads decked, stainless valves, cam and free flow exhaust.. Absolutely love it. Life of motor i have no clue, but just turning up to 4300 rpms aint hurtin anything.. when u change rev limiter and get in the 5500 and above rpms u pushin block to point where it aint designed to go. Chances at that point are not good for life of motor, some last for hundred of hours some last minutes..Remember, it's still just a lawnmower engine!

Hoyt at gatortail is the tits. Calen and Boat Dr are great at mods also and all 3 are good people. Stage 1 gonna cost ya around $2,300 adding carb tacks on about a grand.. U will be impressed with performance, and all will warranty their work.
