Is most the marsh between Old hwy 1 and bayou Lafourche illegal to fish? I've fished it from the road years ago and I think I remember that being a bird sanctuary.

If I launched from leeville and fished my way to timbalier, could I fish the marsh east of the bayou? Or should I just launch from fourchon marina and fish the jetties instead? Never done either.

TIA

Not sure if that land is off limits, but if your looking for trout, launch in fourchon and fish the Jetties. Weather permitting of course.

This time of the year, I'd stick to fishing the jetties and outside. But the land you are referring to is posted by the Port Authority. It's mostly real shallow flats with some good deep run outs that hold fish. The Port Authority will run you out of there. I know from multiple experiences.
