They are restoring the beach right now. Gonna be closed for awhile.

LONG time. They're gonna start pumping a shitload of sand on the beach in a few months. Well, they might be doing that now, but they're bringing in sand from elsewhere to start pretty soon

Hasn't started yet, they are still prepping. The sand is coming from ship shoal. The project is about 280 days, but who knows how long the beach will be closed.

a good portion is owned by the Wisner Foundation. area just east of the old beach access at the end of the road. from what I have heard, they plan to be near the LOOP pipeline crossing before next spring. That's supposed to be where they stop construction unless they get additional funding.

I think the issue is that all of the land between the beach and the road is privately owned, and the owners will not let people cross their land to get to the beach.
