They give you a real hard time about the Power mirrors.
Word to the wise...

Extended warranties are a scam IMO.

Tend to agree.

I bought it b/c of it being a new drivetrain in 2011. I've had no issues with the drivetrain.
I took it in today for a power mirror on the driver's side that wouldn't retract or hold position.
I Have tape on it to hold it steady. Note there is not a mark on the mirror or housing.

The guy has to ask Ford for approval to repair it. Kept the truck all day and still no confirmation from Ford that they will fix the damn thing.

I have the Premium extended warranty with the $50 deductible. 7 years/100K.

The guy said it was the same process for engine and transmission repairs. Sounds like Ford fights doing the repair tooth and nail.

Yep. I haven't heard many stories were extended warranties worked out for the customer on anything, not just vehicles. If it were good for the customer, they wouldn't have to try so hard to sell it.

I bought it later, but alays planned to buy r.

I have a detente relationship with new engine designs: trust, but verify.

Besides, that fricker better be an anvil, or I'll break it.

Well, this mirror deal is like $1400 and they're gonna cover it.

Ultimatly, it'll be worth it. But what damn PITA.

I guess you'd have to sue them to cover the damn engine.

I can see how they'd be confused about the power mirrors not being a bumper-to-bumper item.

Naw, they're specifacally mentioned in the warranty.

They won't cover broken glass, but are supposed to cover the motors and mechanisms.

The guy said Ford had been fixing too many so "they're cracking down".

I was like , "how about you crack down on the engineers that designed a shitty mirror?".

This is exactly why people get an extended warranty....when Ford decides to "crack down" on those pesky customers that keep bothering them with broken trucks.

It's not like someone is abusing the power mirrors. You can't race them.

Yeah, he sad they were looking for signs it had gotten damaged, like from hitting something.

I get that, but why dick around with my truck for 8 hours? Especially when there literally is not a scratch on it?

There's a deductible on warranties now? What a crock of shite

FWIW, rockauto has the mirrors for $300 and $400 if you end up coming out of pocket

My hose slipped off the nipple once and obviously it stopped squirting. I doubt the "squirters" cracked, and much more suspect the cheap tubing of dry rot and cracking. The sell it at aquarium shops for about 10 cents a foot.
