so my 6.7 2012 is a bit different than a 2013,2014 6.7. i was contemplating doing a delete on my 6.7, after this thread, i'm contemplating a new truck to get my arse back in warranty.

It depends. There's a whole lot that goes into it and I don't know what Fords schedule was for meeting the final tier requirements. There's engine credits (TEPM) and shite involved and none of that is public information. It's possible that two 2013's could be completely different. It just depends. The engines were likely physically the same but there's lots of stuff that goes on with calibrations and stuff that's transparent to the customer.
So long story short, don't worry about any of this shite. The days of junky engines and junky emissions controls are behind us. The new shite is good shite and is what the factories have been planning to build and support into the forseeable future. Shits still going to happen and unfortunately new stuff is way more expensive to own and operate than old shite was, but it's better stuff.

I doubt vette comes back with a report of anything other than technician frick up. I still think he probably hydro locked it somehow.
If I owned one, I wouldn't be anywhere remotely close to concerned about this yet. I would be very diligent about following up with the dealership and getting the report from the factory on what wiped it out and finding out what they are doing to correct it though before I just accepted a new engine.

OP: you need to request the difference in lost value. They screwed up, and owe you this. If you tried to sell, you would be out some serious coin.

Not sure about diminished value.
Truck will have a new long block from Ford with 60,000 miles less than the rest of the truck.
I will obviously disclose what has been done as it will show up on dealer records anyway.
DS, I will update thread when I know something, if Ford lets me know.

I'd hardball them. Tell me why it failed or I'm buying a Chevrolet.
You own the truck.

Yeah, I run a business that fixes things and we always want to know cause.
They have to ship the motor back to Ford with the oil in it, even.
I'm gonna try to get the info from Ford when I talk to my customer service rep.

on for real, i would use crystal to take up to highest regional manager possible to get answers and possible extended warranty benefits possible. Don't depend on banner for anything, freaking useless people there.

Nah, the OB is fine. Some of the OT is pretty sketchy though.
