For those needing a rifle sighted in: Livingston Parish

Livingston Parish Sheriff
Hunter Rifle Sight In Dates are as follows:
October 4-5 10am-6pm
October 6 2-6pm
October 25-26 10am-6pm
October 27 2-6pm
Weather Permitting
Rifles will be sighted in by LPSO Instructors. You will need to bring your rifle and ammo. We will also have Instructors on hand to help with scope mounts or changes.
This service is offered free to the public and no appointment is necessary.
This will be held at our training center at 29225 Woodside Dr, Walker.

That is cool for the ones who need help but to me it would be like asking someone to sharpen a knife for me.

I understand but new people to the sport will probably find this beneficial...

For what its worth I don't know that I'd want a cop setting my scope. Most aren't exactly known as "sharpshooters" or at least the ones I know of, especially with rifles. You'd be better served getting the ol' grizzled up guy from deer camp to do it. You know the old guy that can shoot like nobody's business. Every deer club has 'em

Boggles my mind that someone can't sight in a rifle.
Makes the thought of hunting public land even scarier.
