What do you use for your dogs? I have a golden and his hair is so thick that its very hard to get advantage to the skin. Thinking about using Comfortis which is orally given

Comfortis works great on fleas. Doesn't kill ticks. Give with food.

WOULD NOT USE!!! Was giving this to my dog and he started vomiting and was very lethargic for days every month after giving the pill. Did some research and found many cases where dogs were having similar symptoms and even died. I think they have changed the name of this pill also due to the issues it was having. Just do some research before giving this to your dog.

My dogs have been on it for years. Key is to to feed them 1-2 hours before they get the pill. If the dog dies, it probably was a big puss.

If you want a very palatable pill for monthly flea and tick prevention then ask your vet about Nexgard. First pill to prevent fleas and ticks. Trifexis does heartworms, intestinal parasites, and fleas but not ticks. Comfortis just fleas.
Yes trifexis does cause vomiting in some but is not the life threatening pill the internet claims. I have all my dogs on trifexis because ticks are not a big concern for their lifestyle.

I use Ivomec for our yard pets. Also use it for livestock. Just lower the dosage. Kills almost every parasite. And much cheaper than the flea/tick meds specialized for dogs and cats

Yea ok I did laugh to.
All I'm saying is it did not work for my dog and when I read up on it I was finding a lot of bad reviews and lawsuits. But if it's working for you then I would not change.

I worm them with ivomec and it seems to help.

If they start showing up, I have this pour-on stuff. Don't remember what it is, but they generally get it only once or twice a year.
