Going there in September. Is fishing the rocks at the pass worth worrying about bringing the poles?

I fish the pass in PC by boat often. I can always catch redfish and gag grouper in the pass any time of year.

I catch the redfish on live shrimp. I fish the bottom. Catch the grouper on a huge white jig.

The redfish in our pass are huge!

i won't judge you if you aren't. See if you can get licensed from academy and return when you get back.

rather than start a new topic, I'll post here. Heading to Ft. Walton this weekend. I know I have seen several great threads here about fishing from the beach, but alas google has let me down. Any tips for my 12 year old son. Bait, rigging, etc. TIA

For surf fishing I always enjoy a mirrolure. Pink back w/ chartreuse belly, but put it on a steel leader or the bluefish will steal it. Have a lot of fun with that guy. There's more people that know more stuff here though.
