i've got about a dozen snapper/rig setups i'd like to get rid of, in varying degrees of cleanliness and repair. most are tekotas on 5.5' or 6' standup rods, theres some bigger stuff as well. they are well used, and will need a good strip & cleaning at minimum, but they all have caught a bunch of fish

does anyone know of a veterans' group or fishing charity i can contact? i'm in hammond & BR

You may be able to reach out to your local VFW Post and see if any of those guys would be interested.

Maybe one of those "Bring a Kid" fishing groups?

I usually donate my old gear to the neighborhood kids but it's lighter inshore outfits

Absolutely get it which is why I suggested the Take a Kid Fishing groups instead of individual kid themselves.

I’d be interested in learning more about the Bring A Kid Fishing outfit.

Fishing is my 12 year old Godson’s passion and it’s truly a gift from above for him.

An escape and passion. Thanks for any help. Thanks for donating your rods to people that really need it!

I can come get some on my way to Venice in a couple of weeks. I don't want to hog them but might pick up a couple for the camp. You can reconnect with Yellow Dog and I would enjoy the visit

look up Emeric Watson. I know he was involved with wounded war heroes for awhile, not sure if he is still doing it or not.

Emric is no longer with Wounded War Heroes. The current President is Kennary Foster. Phone number is 337-254-2934. Lives in the Lafayette area. Also have a website woundedwarheroes.org.

Are you friends with my buddy the charter captain turned treeman? I saw he posted on FB that he had a friend with a bunch of rods and reels he was looking to move.
