It's possible there is a small population in the kitsatchie. Atleast I always heard that

I have done some pretty extensive research into Louisiana smallmouth bass reports. As far as I can tell they don't exist. There is one picture that looks like it was taken by a potato of a fish caught back in the 50s just this side of the AR border in the Ouachita river that could be a smallie but the picture quality is so poor its impossible to positively ID.

To quote a LAS Article on the Kisatchie:
quote:

Not only does Kisatchie Bayou offer great fly fishing for spotted bass and killer gobbules, but it’s the one water capable of supporting smallmouth bass in Louisiana. To this date, none have been caught.

And as far as making it down to harahan? While I suppose anything is possible, there's just no evidence supporting it.

You are correct Wick. LDWF stocked the hell out of them with Floridas back in the eighties. The forage base in those lakes is astounding. My fish's girth almost equaled her length.

i remember some slutty white girl having that picture... from the paper...

Probably one of my 2:00 a.m. friends after working all night at Murphys. Ahh, nostalgia......
