How is this not a thing? You figure most guys going fishing spend most of their days in the boat and really just need a place to sleep. the hotels at marinas are usually overprices and nothing special. Does anyone know of where something like this exist. IS this a business opportunity?

I’d bet over 99% of southern outdoorsmen have never stayed in a hostel. You’d have to call it something better. Rent-a-room camp…something.

Ricky's wasn't much more than that.

Does Ricky's in Grand Isle(RIP in Peace) count?

I'll admit to slummin it there, a single bed room with a iPad sized TV and ice cold AC used to run about $50/night. It was perfect for when I just needed a place to take a shower and sleep after fishing all day long.

Used to stay at a hunting "hostel" near Yazoo Mississippi. 30 bucks a night for a bed, 4 bunks per room. Never been while it was full so usually had a room to myself or whoever I was with. Was a pretty fun time, they had a big kitchen/living room area that usually had a poker game going and folks cooking/drinking.

Yeah, and the Tropical down the road was no luxury hotel either.

Man I'm too soft to be camping outside in Grand Isle in June these days. Though it wasn't that long ago I'd drive down there Friday night after work, stop have a couple beers while walking the pier watching half the people there keep every 10" trout that came over the rails, find a place to park and sleep in my truck with a little 12v fan hoping I didn't sweat too much or the mosquitos weren't too bad. Kayak fish all day and drive home that evening.

Based on some of the videos posted on here lately, it appears things can get quite hostel when fishing, especially if you're on someone else's brush pile.

That wouldn't really be a hostel. Hostels are really dorms so more like rent-a-bed.

For a visual example of a nice hostel (not what you're likely to get as a fish camp)

More likely to get

I don’t blame you. I was referring to my area. We don’t require/need AC so we have every option available.

My Dad stayed at a camp in Delacroix a ways back he called the "Loonie Bin" or something like that. Apparently a large camp where different group would rent one bunk room and other groups would rent out the other rooms. It apparently made for quite a mix of characters

One story goes that after everyone went to bed a young teen went back out to the living room area and turned on the tv to watch pron, Baywatch, whatever was available. Young teen ensues to start fappin away. A priest that was with another group down there wakes up to get a glass of water and finds the young teen catching some physical exercise and was beside himself

Pic 2 would be fine as long as the showers are clean.

I've been in worse but it was for work and I was getting paid to be there. I wouldn't pay much for pic 2.
