Planning on going with the boat to fish the sunken barges in Fourchon or try the beach along Elmers island tomorrow, wind permitting, and was looking for any tips of what the trout are being caught on, live or plastic. And is any one place better than the other.
TIA guys and good luck this weekend

You don't need live bait. Caught a limit on topwater out there last week. Some were really nice. Unless you just feel like chunky live bait on the bottom and waiting.

Is Elmers or the main island doing better in the surf? The other day someone posted some hammers on here that they caught by the state park and another person said that they had trouble on elmers catching.

I'll be heading out early in the morning for some surf action too.

I went yesterday, the surf beat us up and we never did get a bite. Tried top water early on, switched to popping cork with vudu shrimp, tight lined matrix shad and we got nothing to bite.

I would watch the weather and hope for a west or north wind to knock the waves down and maybe get some clean water.

Seas will be less than a 1 foot tomorrow and most of the day Saturday.

Get the Windfinder app. Definitely a useful app when fishing the coast.
