Fish back in lake charles?

Finally got my boat back. Anyone have any luck in lake charles/prien recently? Seeing some posts from under lights. Anyone been lately?

I fished Prien 2 weeks ago. No trout, but got some good reds, and found a ton of gar on the other side of the ship channel.

It’s starting to get better. Was planning on going this weekend until i saw the wind forecast. Blowing 20-25 from the north.

Much cooler weather. Water coming out of the marsh. As long as you are not on Big Lake, fishing ought to be good. Old River south of Prien or Haymark might be worth trying. Just saying from many years of past experience.

If you are on FB, look for the group .... Calcasieu lake (Big Lake). There was a good report posted today.

It has to be Salty AF. I've seen pics on FB of people catching sharks and Jack Crevalle at the locks up North of the lake.

My little cousins and nephews are up to about 8 sharks off the wharf on lake charles in the past couple of months
