Opted to make a pass around my neighbors pond and caught this beauty along with 13 others (2lb average) in just under an hour. I just started using top water baits after having them crash my lizard/brush hogs as I retrieved them over the lilies. Needless to say, that shite is exhilarating.

Mind you, i'd still be fishing if the Little Dongs hadn't opted to make a mud slide and got too cold to stick around.

Some type of torpedo/buzz bait. Not sure of name or brand. I do know they would have hit anything on top water and would only hit a soft plastic if it was moving quickly across the lilies/grass.

As for getting a foot in the pic, it was all I could do to snap the pic. I was still shaking from the experience and the little dongs were too busy sliding on their mudslide to assist.

That thing had no chance. It was hooked like a meth head.

I personally have never caught a bass on a torpedo. Fished it many times and have had them snap at it, but never set the hook.

Good hoist

Highly recommend a clear tiny torpedo. Especially for small bodies of water. Pop pop pop pause. Sploosh. Don't set hook. Just tighten up. You're welcome.
