Electric chicken? Opening night? Matrix shad?

Talking trout and redfish
Colors, brand, weight, etc.

Looking for some good ideas for a fishing trip to a barrier island

Mirrolure Mirrodine or a Catch 2000.

I also love a Mirrolure Lil Jon in Chicken on a Chain color.

I think these are all matrix shad but some might be egret baits

Depends on conditions of course, but in general:

Trout: Shrimp Creole Matrix
Reds: Gold Spoon
Flounder: Chartreuse Gulp Swimming Mullet

a barrier island

Mississippi barrier islands?

If I'm fishing an island (MS barrier or Chandeleur)
1. Red Head top water (Pick your fav brand & size)
2. Suspending Mirrolure (Mirrodine/Catch 2000/52 m)

If I'm having a slow day
3. Opening night paddle tail.

Bring flounder light and gig if you have them. Few things I enjoy more than walking a beach at night and sticking some flounder.

1/2 oz Gold Spoon, 3/4 oz Blue and Chrome Rattle Trap and Baby Minus 1 for Reds

Specks.

Double rigged soft plastics, mostly green sparkle beetles.

I've always like Norton Sand Eel Jr. for speckled trout.
Glow/Chart and LSU are my go to colors.

They used to make a color called Limetreuse Hologram that we called "Death"... they discontinued it.

Yes, but last time I got into them, they were killing Houdini. Turns out, that color really matched the shrimp.

-Vudu under a cork. Glow w/pink tail is my fav color
-matrix shad (shrimp creole, tiger bait, & green hornet) and slayer plastics (love all the shiny flakes that throw in there)
- spinner baits in line or traditional
- pick a Walk the dog topwater
- I usually bring a little bait shrimp. Im not too proud to break it out under a cork if things are slow.

I've learned over the past few years that a vibrating jig is deadly for Reds in the marsh.
