My little bro damn near ruined the 270 our dad gave us by leaving it out. So I went out and bought a Ruger American 30-06 with red field optic.

I figure I'll let my fiance wrap it up after my Christmas eve hunt. Then she can present the rifle to me Christmas day at my parents. My little bro is a rifle less jerk, I don't feel bad for him.

Congrats on the Ruger. I've got the Redfield scope in 50mm, I'm happy with it so far. Caught it with a 50 rebate, so i think it cost me $160, hard to beat at that price point.
