Since when is it common to sell decoys by 6 and not 12? I saw some decoys I really liked and almost purchased them for a high fricking rate of 64.99 until I realized it was for 6 deeks. WTF? I know hunting is fricked up. I'm going buy some 2 liters of coke and make decoys.

No shite. Pisses me off. Decoys in the last 3-5 years alone have skyrocketed out of control.

I remember a dozen Hot Buys for like $40. Now it's 80 or something.

Just got the cabelas catalog and went straight to decoys. Holy shite. I don't think I saw any selling by the dozen and the cheapest was around 40 bucks for 3!

Do they go bad? Seriously I have no clue, but a friend had a bunch of old ones he was looking to give away I think. We could be talking 30 y/o.

If you take care of them the new ones usually last 3-4 years. Talking paint jobs. I pick up my decoys every hunt so they get handled a lot. The plastic lasts a good bit longer but you have to repair or fill with foam. Lol

My dad has 19 teal decoys made out of wood. We use them during teal season. All the teal land with the wooden decoys. There are many bbs in them. The guy who made them, said they are worth more with more bbs. He said they are worth around 150 bucks a piece. Maybe we can sell them and buy a couple dozen plastics nowadays.

Repainting really isn't that bad on divers or on the hens. Drake dabblers are a p.i.t.a. though from a painting standpoint. I have gotten all I my decoys for right around $1.50/decoy or less in pretty damn good condition used on craigslist. Bought some G&H ones that had barely seen the water last year, 30 for $40 and they retail for $140/dz. Just gotta be vigilant.

Decoys have gotten insane. Pretty much the reason I have been using the same ones for 7 seasons. Just touch up the paint and out a clear coat on the to help keep it from chipping. The only decoys you can buy by the dozen is pretty much the Dakotas

It's funny this thread came up too. I was looking up goose decoys and shells around lunch. I resisted the urge, but im not sure how long I can hold out.

Yea I got the cabelas mag today and a delta waterfowl mag the other day and just ordered my macks prairie wings mag. My wife will hate me because it won't be long before I find something I "need".

GW dekes still cheap by the dozen. Buy a bunch at end of season on sale, they last 2-3 season, then buy more.

Yeah I realized last year the trend was to sell decoys by the six pack because if you saw the price for a full dozen you'd realize they screwing us. I took out over 3 dozen 30yo flambeau decoys with the old flat wrap around weights I had in the back of the shed. Cleaned up the decoys good, straightened out the weights and siliconed them into the keels to make them weighted keel then added Texas rig weights. Almost as good as todays decoys and I didn't have to finance them.

I'll let you mention that that if he has what you want, personally I'd keep it to myself.

Yeah and how about the new flapper/spinner inside the cabelas cover for $350. It's getting ridiculous.
