I am looking for a duck lease in South Louisiana. Distance from baton rouge depends on if there is a camp or not. Any help is appreciated!

If by chance a duck lease makes it to the OB, I would probably run, not walk, away from it.

Just a FYI, good duck leases generally don't become public knowledge unless they are gar holes

I assume money is of no concern since that wasn't mentioned.

And i figured that but was hoping an OB'er was looking for a member.

Cost is a concern but also depends on what I am getting.

I'm ticket #02983 in line for a spot in an OB duck lease, hoping this is the year someone will let me pay them to sit on their property in St. Bernard/Plaquemines.

If it isn't a close friend offering you a known spot because someone died or they upgraded to another property, pass because you are getting ready hosed...

There's a poster here who has had a great experience with Doug in Gueydan. Perhaps he will see this post and elaborate.

Most of the property that Doug leased was sold year before last so he doesn't have much anymore. He may have a pit blind coming open in gueydan though not sure I would want it but it's worth giving him a call, he may have some other stuff around Indian Bayou. Good luck.

Hi.

Don't lease from Doug unless you want to pay boatloads of money to do all the work yourself and not have your field ready for opening day... Or the first split for that matter... Doug's hunting lodge/guide service is a good and honest operation. His land leasing/management efforts are poor.

Good luck finding a lease. Ask the people you know that duck hunt. That will get you going in the right direction.

good luck. this one has been making the rounds on facebook with no takers obviously. it says 1500 gets you and three guests onto the lease. Youd have to call the guy and see what he means but im assuming you can only have one boat on the lease at a time. its close to where i hunt. We had some good days and some bad days this season. It probably has some ducks. You might want to look into it if you cant find anything else.

"access" well who else is gonna have "access" besides me and my 3 guests?

I'm willing to bet about just a million other dudes and their 3 guests at $1500 a pop

How married to South LA are you? If you are willing to drive just 1200 miles NE I've got a spot for you!

If you look at an ag field, do not fall for the old trick of showing it to you in Feb/March. I have seen friends get hosed not knowing any better.

True, I would not lease a blind or pit unless I personally hunted it or had friends that you trust that could vouch for it with some pics of dead birds as proof. Showing a spot after the season that is covered in birds means nothing if it is the dead sea during duck season and there is no way to verify that in Feb/March.

A good rule of thumb with pits in NE LA and probably South LA too is that you are absolutely going to get what you pay for. If a deal comes out that seems too good to be true, in duck leasing terms, it probably is.

And if you do happen to find a good lease be very quiet about it. Anybody asks (especially the farmer) you didn't kill shite all year

X3.

Farmers always trying to get more $$$ and will sell you out in a heartbeat. Never let them know you are killing. This is where most folks get fricked by FB. Never put duck killing on social media.

This is true. Duck hunters are the second worst when it comes to jealousy. Deer hunters are number 1 by a wide margin.

Agree. It amazes me how a set of antlers can turn some of the biggest dudes into the biggest bitches youve ever seen.
