I posted a couple weeks ago about the cost/availability of a deer lease close in to Monroe and got a ton of help. What about a duck lease in the same area. Are there clubs? Are you charged by the blind and if so what's a reasonable fee? Appreciate your help.

Is that lake, marsh, fields? What makes it worth 10K/blind?

Rice Fields, Bouef River nearby, not far south of Arkansas State line. I hunted there for ten years off Little Missouri Road w/i spitting distance of the Eagles Nest. Friend of mines dad had a farm there with an old house we converted into a camp.
We hammered their arse.

Was talking to a guy who knows the folks who still own a couple hundred acres of Black Bayou Lake at Monroe. They haven't allowed duck hunting but he says are considering opening it up. I know the lake used to be famous for the big blinds in it back in the 50's - 60's, and it's real close in. Anybody heard anything about it?

Woodlands & Riceland Plantations have a couple blinds left available. Hwy 15 - few miles south of Monroe. $12,000/yr for 6 man pits. Rice/Beans - Guaranteed Water.

Feds own Black Bayou so there's no telling what they will do. It was good back in the day.

Feds own all but about 200 ac. of Black Bayou on the south side. That 200 ac. is privately owned. It's part of an old family place. They lease about 1000 acres of woods to Silver Spur and allow fishing in the lake but no duck hunting yet. That's what I hear.

There is no way I would pay 10k for any blind unless it had an "escort" that went with that blind

Anything on 15 is probably going to start at 5k for something shitty up to 10k+ for something decent

The high dollar stuff tends to be paid by businesses, and guys take clients to justify the expense. They also have to be close enough to a large town to hunt weekdays and make it to the office by 9-10 in the morning. If you are just hunting weekends, no way that is worth it.

Some maybe.... Not necessarily for the area he asking about n monroe. I know probably 30 guys that lease blinds in the area and only a handful are lease by businesses.

$2k/yr per man is an average price for a decent/good blind.

Now way in hell I would pay 2k for a duck lease. Hell you could go on 10 guided hunts for that.

Yeah you are right, 10 hunts for 2K is a much better deal than rights to hunt everyday for 2K.
