My Dad left me nine shotguns. All of them are DU guns of the year that he purchased in the 80s and 90s. None have every been fired. They are all in the original cases and most have associated paperwork in the cases.

I have a 20 gun safe and want to make some room. I've never actually sold firearms before, but I think I am going sell these. They don't hold any real sentimental value. I would prefer to keep the used 20 gauge from when I first started hunting.

Should I list them on Gunbroker.

Be advised shipping guns now is a PIA. UPS and Fedex make you sign up for a firearms shipping license(gun shops have to as well). It is a very intrusive process and they may deny you. I sold a gun on GB recently and had to search for a gunstore that could ship.

They changed the rules in August of this year. I would find n auction house to handle it. I think there is one in Alexandria that sells guns.

One is an Ithacha model 37 that was the DU 40th Anniversary gun.

Damn fine shotgun!! I have (2) Model 37s myself. One belonged to my grandfather and the other was given to me by my Dad 30 or so years ago.

I never sell guns that I will use. I have Barretta o/u for clays and upland, a semi for ducks, a .270 for deer, an AR and a tactical shotgun for people and a load of handguns.

What am I going to do with these collector guns? They are basically pieces of art. I’m not going to hunt with them. I’m not going to defend myself with them. Their only value is investment.

Real Gun Value link will give you an ideas on current market selling prices and values. Best of luck as some good people on this board that can help you move them. GB is a good option, but as mentioned you now have to jump through hoops and Uncle Sam wants his tax money

I had a similar situation last year. I did an advanced search on Gunbroker for sellers in my area then contacted some until I found one willing to sell on consignment. I could sell myself but since I mainly buy I'm not set up to except credit cards nor do I have enough transactions for a high seller rating.

Bump for description of guns.

Some of the info is pulled from auction websites where I was able to find the same models.

My favorites are the Ithica, the Baretta, the Weatherby and the last Browning (#9). I think I will keep at least two of those.
