Updated link. Natural avalanche. It has a long drop (1,000' freefall) so it's a lot of loose powder by the time it stops.
They shoot off a 105mm gun to set off avalanches South of downtown. The gun is fired about a mile from the house, and is pretty loud. Saw one coming down from a planned shoot last Thursday.
