Hows everyone dove field looking.

Mine has about a foot of water under the millet. It may just have to wait for teal.

Any migratory birds working their way down yet?

All this rain is screwing up the sunflower fields. Too wet to spray, too wet to clip and what has been clipped is sprouting. Hopefully this shite gets out of here and we have dry weather for the next couple weeks.

The goat weed is on fire and the small patch of milo & sunflowers I plant is doing okay. I jump 8 or 10 and see a few on the power lines each time I ride the trail through it. Should kill a few opening day, but doubt we limit or anything.

Some of my set ups the last few years with decoys and mojos.

But, I'm really looking forward to going to Wichita Falls, TX mid September. That's where it goes down in some huge fresh cut milo fields.

You don't need mojos out there...

Dove season and LSU football kicking off... one of the best times of the year.

Does anyone have any leads on paid hunts around Meridian, Ms. The WMA hunts here are way over crowded.

Our place is loaded in central MS. Spread 800 lbs of chops last week and probably ran 150 birds off the field

Will the tropical storm screw up dove season or teal season? Or both??

I'm in Harlingen TX, the fields are always good, unless it rains of course.

One of the best hunts I have been on was during a tropical depression. Raining like hell and windy but the doves were going crazy

If it was Tropical storm Lee... You're right.

In NWLA that day it was misting and spitting rain, but the wind was blowing 20+ mph. We killed our birds and it started pouring as we were leaving the field.

I think that was the game LSU beat Oregon in Dallas to open the season.

Lookn good, we had about 300ish birds a week ago in one of ours and about 500 in another. Both pretty small fields of about 6-10 acres.

Would you recommend shredding or running a plow over the goatweed to knock out seeds?

I have birds on mine but I've heard the seeds don't fall out until October.

If you can round up it, when it dries up you clip it and it will do better.

Saw one once like that on east side of highway 61 north of state line
