old trick...been around for a long time.

a buddy of mine did it during teal season some 25 years back, and said he had some bluewings try to land on it and instantly starting skidding and tumbling all over the place.

that alone makes it worth trying.

Looks like a fun time.

Especially if you follow the 50#s of corn suggestion.

I would think it would make some come in some, but I couldn't see them landing on it.

They won't be landing on it, but they will be dying on it.

That close with only a patch of visqueen/poly on the ground will be a slaughter.
Ducks love corn too...or milo, or rice...

Most people pass shoot ducks, unless it is a species they don't want to shoot. AKA: Smiling Mallards. I would let a Shoveller light in the decoys and work other birds...
So, if a person can call them into the spread within shotgun range, Game On.

Yep. Only time we get birds landing is spoonies and then those teal that sneak up on you all quiet.

I did this last year and kept having problems with this little black lady fishing in my duck hole. Weird thing was, she was catching fish.

I've heard it works, but never from first hand experience.

I'm guessing it will get a look...

My only critique is that the sq. footage is kinda small to really attract anything or be very visible.

There's no way this could actually work right?? I mean, this kinda seems like the whole Boise State blue turf shite.. It doesn't even seem large enoug to actually attract any birds..

Right...

That's what I'm thinking. 4 sheets like that and they're in business.

True story.

LSU vs. FLA in 1995. We got our arse kicked, but during the game a flight of about 150 snows circled the stadium 4 or 5 times.
