No joke. Get a robot vac. Let it go everyday until the odor starts to dissipate. What it is is the dirt and hair on the floor and couch.

I'm side I have these issues and my house is going on the market within the next three weeks. The problem is that my nose simply does not work. I can't smell much at all due to a deviated septum from a baseball during high school and a failed sinus surgery shortly thereafter.

I will keep an eye on this thread for suggestions as I'm side my two dogs stink to high hell. The wife is oblivious to it because I'm the low one on the hierarchy totem pole around here.

I always liked to use murphy oil soap on my dogs (the stuff that is made to clean hardwood floors)...it is not a miracle worker, but made them smell nice for a little while and made their hair soft, too...

For the house use OdoBan to spray on the carpet.

I placed baking soda boxes around my house and it seems to do the trick. Along with some air freshener plug ins

I'll second this. It's an expensive fix but really works.

Also if you have rugs, get the Arm n Hammer brand Pet Oder powder stuff you sprinkle on carpet rugs. That stuff works really well also.

Or get a steam mop. That helps kill all the odors also. Mop floors with steam and then mop again with the good smelling stuff. House will smell fresher longer.

ETA: just read no carpets. Try the steam mop. Good luck

We have wood and tile and the smell is from mostly the dirt on the floor. Our robot goes daily and always has stuff in it.

We also do Murphy oil soap.

Oh yea mine too. Im amazed and slightly disgusted at the amount of hair/dirt/filth that ends up in the dirt bin every afternoon when I get home. That little machine is well worth the price in my book.

Leave your dog outside and you won't have this problem.

Check all carpets, rugs. Urine soaks to the bottom and stays there. big issue is that the owners don't smell it usually. takes a honest visitor to fall out when they come in to find out. bottom line- look under rugs etc. they usually have a favorite spot.

I just don't understand how and why people leave their pets inside on their furniture all day. That shite is disgusting

Our dog stunk no matter how many times we gave him a bath. Took him in and he was given a haircut and they did something to his anal glands. Dog does not not stink and there is not a smell in the house.........for now.
