Have a 2 year old female lab. Right now I'm feeding her Eukanuba. Been buying it at Petsmart. Went yesterday and it's up to $60 for a 36lbs bag. Went home and searched online, and can buy it for around $40 with free shipping. Kinda nervous about the UPS guy dropping a bag at my door with half the food gone tho. Anyone buy dog food via the internet?

Also, while i'm doing some research, looking into if I would want to switch brands. What do you feed your lab and why?

I can't see how anyone would pay anything close to this for dog food.

I feed my lab Beneful. Can buy it at any of your local WalMarks! But in all seriousness, paying that much for dog food is just ridiculous. There's no reason to pay that price. Any decent brand of dog food will be sufficient.

Purina
Beneful
Blue Diamond
Etc.

I use Pro Plan for my year and a half year old female. Just started with it and stayed with it, she likes it, kinda pricey but I have no complaints.

Of all the stuff you think they could steal, you think they would steal dog food?

Purina Dog Chow (I now expect to hear from the dog fod snobs) but he would prefer whatever I am having.

dog food snob here... i used to feed my dog purina one but read a thread on here about a dog food review site dogfoodanalysis.com i read about purina and other big name food and what was in them. some pretty bad stuff. i did my own research and switched to a much better reviewed brand and it made a huge difference in my dog. i would just do some research and buy on the internet. its much cheaper unless you have a coupon for a local store.

Yes, I used to order it online. Its a lot cheaper. No problem with UPS guy leaving it. Never had a problem.

Don't think they would steal it. Worried about a hole in the bag. Having a trail of dog food from here to Montana, or wherever the frick.

I guess I am sort of a dog food snob. I'm kinda into eating healthy and being fit. If I feed my dog good stuff and you feed your dog crap...then no way your dog performs better than mine. If i'm gonna give her Ole Roy, then I might as well get her a pack of Kools too.

What site are you using to purchase dog food from? Be curious if they could beat the local prices.

I've got my one year old lab on Purina One right now and it comes out to around $32 at PetSmart with the rewards card (35lb bag).

I buy what I buy because my dog has issues. If my dog did not have food issues, I'd feed it whatever. Plenty of happy healthy dogs raised on Ole Roy.

What ever is the cheapest - but generally I use Amazon. I shop there so much I get free shipping.

I have had my dog on a bunch of different foods to just try them out. During the summer I feed him Orijen and in the winter I switch to EVO Red Meat.

They are both expensive, but you don't have to feed him as much as other foods. I have him eating around 2.5 cups a day and he hasn't run out of energy yet. It makes his coat one of the best I have ever felt.

Thats what I feed mine too.

What people don't realize that its about $15 more for about the same size bag of cheap arse food, but you feed them about 1/4 less than you would shitty food. My dogs would have to eat so much of that crap to keep their shape where as I only feed my 75lb male about 3.25 cups and my 50lb female 2.5 cups. I would have to feed my male almost 4.5 cups of shitty dog food to get the same caloric intake. Further, its the difference of eating McDonalds everyday vs eating healthy. I treat my dogs like athletes. They better eat like it too.

my charcoal lab had some skin issues so I switched his food to Taste of the Wild. His skin is much better and he seems to love it. Ranks very high on Dogfoodadvisor.

I feed mine Hill's Perscription J/D. He is a two year hold english lab so a littler bigger. Probably about 85lbs. Feeding him the j/d just to help his joints.

It is pricey and you have to buy it from a vet but I think it is worth it. The vet has four labs and feeds them all the j/d.

This.

I feed my 75lbs female about 3 cups a day. Last time I recorded it. A 36 lbs bag lasted her 40 days.
