Got a trip planned later this month to go night fishing down south and the guy planning it says I need my saltwater endorsement. I have the lifetime hunt/fish combo and I think I'm good but since I've never fished saltwater and he disagrees it's put doubt in my head. Can't seem to find it on LDWF from my phone and forget to look when I'm at home.

Settle this for me please Honorary judges of the OB.

Thank you sir!

How is the fishing on Calcasieu at the end of October typically? Like I said never been before and really just accepted the invite to get away from the house and drink some beer for a weekend but catching some new to me fish would be nice

"• Lifetime Licenses are issued from the Baton Rouge office only. Lifetime licenses cover basic fishing,
saltwater fishing, basic hunting, big game hunting, bow hunting and primitive firearm, state
duck license, turkey stamp and the WMA hunting permit. (Recreational gear and Federal duck
stamps are not included)"

from LDWF site...

If you miss the fronts Big Lake is awesome the last part of October. I've been the last weekend of October for the past several years.

Late fall early winter are my favorite times to fish big lake.

Look for turner's, it will be easy to find cause they'll be 37 boats anchored there

If you are going offshore, I think you still need an offshore landing permit, but that's free. Same as hip for migratory birds.

I think the offshore landing permit comes into play if you're the captain of the boat. I've been on a charter trip the last few years and was only ever asked by the captain if I had my regular license.

You don't need anything extra.

Don't think it's required on charters. I only know I've had to get it since I've had my lifetime.

if going on a friend trip (not charter) and fishing for reef fish, everyone on board needs the Offshore Landong Permit. It's free and helps the state stay non-compliant with the Feds about the red snapper. you can even do it on your phone.

It's a charter trip (Nightstalker) with a place out of Hackberry.

Guess I'll go ahead and get the permit to since it's free. Green jeans can't write me up for being over liscensed........ At least I hope not haha!

Thank you all for the responses!!!
