Do you think I can get this outdoor kitchen built within a budget of $20-25k?

My wife and I looking to add on to our back patio, which right now is pretty much just a blank canvas. Currently we have a small covered patio that's about 8'x16'. We would like to extend that to where we would have about 700 sq ft of outdoor living space. We are coming straight out of pocket for this so our budget for this project is $20-25K, which will include the following:

1. Stamped concrete Ashley slate design pattern. Approximately 700 sq ft. Existing 8'x16' slab will be overlayed. I also would like to run some electrical underneath the new slab for the patio cover to stub out some electrical outlets near the support columns for TV installation.

2. An insulated aluminum patio cover that's approximately 16'x 20' with two ceiling fans. Two large 8" Acadian aluminum support columns

3. Kitchen - Approximately 7.5'x 3.5'x 8' L shaped kitchen with bar including built-in appliances; 32" Lion grill, side burner, BGE, cold water sink that drains somewhere in the yard, stone veneer exterior, metal support beams, granite counters, outdoor frig, 2 stainless cabinets and 1 double stainless drawer.

4. Have a small uncovered seating area with fire pit (not built in, aftermarket purchase) directly off of kitchen area

5. Looking to have Home Depot (or some other contractor) custom fit a small pergola over the kitchen area to provide some shade. Will also install a solar screen on top of pergola for added sun protection. Also want to install ceiling fan underneath pergola.

I've had quite a few contractors come out and it seems as though the only way I can get this done within my budget is to subcontract each part out myself. I don't have the budget to go all out like Will Cover, GRTiger, and some others plus I don't want to build something that's too expensive for the neighborhood I'm in. Although many have in-ground pools in their backyards, everyone I've seen so far in my neighborhood have insulated aluminum patio covers installed to increase the footprint of their patio. We've prepped the area where this is going to go and are ready to start as soon as I can get the cost to where if feasible for us to take on.

You don't have any friends in the construction business?

Nope. I wish I did then they would just help me build the entire thing.

Get rid of #3 and you can do it for sure

Just that alone is gonna be $10-15k depending on the contractor. Can you do any of this stuff yourself?

Drop out number two. I'm not a fan of those trashy covers.

Also, will you need a building permit? Are you in a HOA? If so, check by laws.

This, pour your concrete, patio cover, etc. and then and see where you end up, can always build the kitchen part later (Install PVC sleeves in concrete prior to pouring)

Bare concrete is going to run you around $4/ft finished, not sure what they charge to stamp.

you have the right idea to not overbuild for your neighborhood, my old house had the insulated patio cover and it looked fine with the house and surroundings. You can even go with cypress columns to dress it up for not much more.

I'm a construction guy but still chose to hire a GC to do my 20'x22' addition. Originally planned to sub out myself but on small jobs it very difficult to get subs to show up and in proper sequence at that. I could have saved $5k or so subbing out myself but getting it done in a month and without headache it was worth it to me. I'm building my own cabinets which I like to do so that is saving me some $.

Progress as of yesterday, roofing today, hoping to be wrapped up in two weeks.

Last i checked it was in the neighborhood of $5 per sq ft so 700 sq ft will hit you for about $3500. I would skip that and put brick pavers or stain.

Is that back slab not under cover for a fireplace? I am wanting to add one off of my patio and was wondering what the cost was for it?

The stone veneers can be an expensive hassle. I have a BIL who got this irregular stone brick for the columns and exterior surfaces of his outdoor kitchen which took a brick guy a couple weeks to put up. Huge increase in the cost. Now you can get more prefab stone looking brick but it looks cheap. If you are working budgets, you may want to consider altering your column design. His looks great but to spend $10k extra just to put up stone can bust the budget. Also, rather than granite, I've seen some fantastic fabricated concrete countertops that look great and are solid as a rock.

I am going to have a corner fireplace on the left corner, the slab off the end is a step down so I didn't have to grade my entire backyard to the height of the new slab and will also serve as a good area for the crawfish pot. Will put herb garden on either side once done.

I just built one in my back yard. I built it myself to save money plus I thought it was fun.

A fireplace is not cheap. I have ~ $5k in just the materials on mine. To have some one build it would have been ~ $ 12-15k.

The size is a little deceiving. It's over 7.5' wide and over 11' tall from the patio.

ETA: I used a Fire rock fireplace kit on it.

Looks great. I'm using a mason-lite for mine. Will be a corner install, frame out on either side and face with flagstone. Will have gas line close by running to my grill and burner, debating on running a gas starter or not.

I don't have a gas starter on mine. Haven't missed it yet it haven't had that many fires yet. Been a little too warm. Can't wait until fall.
